A wonderful scene from your "Great White North" - except with these beautiful team of dogs and the lovely young woman musher it turns into a very colourful and lively North. A great image and mood indeed !!!
warm greetings,
Adele
A great winter scene with these working dogs almost smiling, and the red coat that the dog handler is wearing a real bonus in this very fine shot.
best wishes from Lawson.
I like the muted watercolour effect in the background. Makes the main subject even more prominent.
That team is apparently ready for more. Nothing in the look of either the musher or the jolly dogs betrays the fact they have had a tough time on the trail.
end of race? really?? ; ) i agree with mira: my first thought was: "wow, the musher* is actually still peppy enough to pose for the photographer! her cheeks are a little flushed – from the cold rather than exhaustion i'd suspect! ; )) – but otherwise she seems ready for the next 1000 miles! great capture of a beautiful musher and her (his?) team! i like how you gave the snowy background a certain vagueness – in a way it seems to mirror what all participants must feel at the end of the race: "we made it! all the exertions of the race are behind us!" it's them and the dogs – nothing else matters… greetings, sabine.
*i'm using the neuter term here because i'm not sure whether it's a boy or girl – girl would be great, wouldn't it? GO GIRL!! yes, i've just decided to call the musher a "she"! ; )))
