if it weren't for the ships in the back, i might have mistaken the gray mass for a heap of volcanic rock. even the clouds look a bit like smoke from the crater and thus fit in neatly with the interpretation… but no, the ships got me suspicious! i looked closer and noticed that it's a kind of industrial gravel with strange patterns on some of the stones… so here's what i'm now suspecting this is now: i'm picturing you with a helmet on, soot specks on your cheeks and a spade in your hand looking out to the yellow sea because only a seconds ago you popped up from the ground after having dug yourself all the way through to china! ; )) please take it easy now, dear viola. no need to prove anything. charter one of the cruise liners and take the easy way home – voyage, voyage… ; )))) hugs, sabine.
