Breaking the rules can work or not work. I'm on the fence with this one. It's very creative, but I'm not sure it's a great shot. Keep playing with the idea.
Penny Myles
I really like the bottom half of this and the bits of sky I can see BUT although credit goes to you for trying something different, in my opinion it was a big mistake to overexpose the top. As it is it just looks like a picture of a skirt with something very hazy above it. there was potential for a nice portrait with great mood but to blank out the top half of the body was a step too far for me
YAVUZ ÖZER
very strange. but i think face is important in a photo like this. hiding the face, may be a different idea but actually not so intersting rof me. but soft lighting is good. i like it.
Kirsten Bird
Strange photo. Personally it doesn't appeal to me without a head, but at least it is different and gets people's attention. I think with this idea, (obviously intending to blow out the head), it would have perhaps been better with at least a hint of the head.
G. Green
Strange, but I happen to like strange. Nonetheless, something is somehow missing. It might have helped to place the figure closer to the left/right edge of the image.
Luki Widjaja
i can't understand what is this photo tell, only body and there's no head? O_o
Ignatius Mario Liang
i like this photo it got angelic or some spiritual feeling if i can see little bit more her upper body it will be great portrait.
Jerome Zakka Bajjani
I agree with Alessandra. Not far from a great picture but the white part should be more subtle.
Russell Wong
i think the use of strong light which lead to a subject blown out should be photographer's intention. but i am not the expert on this genre and could not understand the story behind.
Viktor Csak
Creative use of natural backlight, but the light is too strong at this time and the subject fades away.
Alessandra Manzotti
POtentially a great image but the loss of her from the waste up really throws the entire image off. The vintage feel is nice.
antonio caputo
something gone wrong with your subject
Matthew Ball
i like this onto a lot and particularly the fact that it quite obviously has a story to it. with a nice vintage feel to the grain clothing landscape tone and atmosphere. maybe i agree with the others there could be a little more detail in the torso but definitely not too much i like to be kept guessing and that is the wonderful nature of art and this photo in particular
Ildiko Neer
Half of a woman. It must be better seen the upper side, too.
reflexio
Certainly an interesting technique, maye the contrast between the top and the bottom is too great, less blown out at the top would be better. I am not sure the vignetting in the top left and tight corners is worthwhile.
James Elliott
Cool concept but I would prefer to see more of what I'm assuming is a female figure. At the very least I'd like to see the shape of the arms.
yana itsuky
good concept, but i don't agree with the execution..
Marie-Claude
The disappearance of a woman ? A lost love ? A woman one tries to remember but it has become to impossible to figure out her face again ? Even if it isn't "technically perfect" (I think the place where where the face should be is slightly too white). What I like in this picture is the fact it is not boring, it conveys a story and the viewer can make one's own story out of it. Reason why I say "publish".
Frédéric Petit
I like the objective of ghostly silhouette in bright light, but the body is too radically "eaten". Seems an apple-core, a stalk…
Alexander Spernes
It's a great photo! The overexposed light (come on people, when did overexposed photos becaome a bad thing, when used in the right way it can be great) is good and I understand where you wanna go with this. For me, it's an exciting photo, and it makes me wonder. That is so much more worth than a flies eyes.
Wolfgang Scheu
beside a try to create a vintage touch to a photo I cannot see anything interesting - sorry
Stefano Mallus
sorry but I dont understand this...sorry
Herbert A. Franke
What wants to say with this image, the artist!. Unfortunately I have not understood it.
Carol Dorion
Is there something that the photographer sees and/or wishes me to see in this scene that i don't ?
omikelet
A photo of a person without arms, head and face visible has no sense. No mystery and mood at all, only a "vintage" treatment. Composition totally wrong.
Didier Guibert
we miss something !!!
Frank Osswald
I like the idea of the head vanishing into the light. The shallow depth of field together with the desaturation of colors makes it an interesting picture to me.
Dani Babitz
I'm really sorry but I'm not able to understand the concept here......
