Hi my name is David and I have been interested in photography since 1980. I have always leaned toward artistic things such as Piano, Drawing, photos,and a little sculpting. I grew up in the fingerlakes region in upstate N.Y. There was a lot of open country there with lakes and changing weather all the time.

I like the idea of being able to freeze a moment in time and have it be memorable when someone looks at it. To Bring the me back to a Summer or vacation when I was a kid. Probably because I studied Art and art History in College I started to try to make my Photos look a little like Paintings which forces me to look at something in a different way. Plus adding patterns and focusing on just what is interesting to me, seems to capture a little world that is easy to miss. I love the Mediterrenean because there is so much color.
I only took one photography class, so I never really learned rules; I would look at something that affectd me emotionally and then try to capture that feeling onto paper. With portraits I can sometimes look at someone and see a finished idea; then I just have to get it on paper.
Basically I love photography and I'll keep doing it till I can't.
