Sobre mi
I have been interested in photography from a very young age.
I remember being a small boy and feeling fascinated by this art form, which allowed for people to capture images and emotions on camera and then develop them onto paper.
I've lived in Lisbon all my life, but my parents are originally from Alentejo. During vacations, when we usually visited that region, I always felt dazzled with the landscape and also with the people, so especial and genuine... and I felt a strong desire to capture on camera all of the beauty this great region has to offer!
Even so, it was not until I turned 17 that I managed to get my own camera!
I was about to go on a trip to London and since I had already asked my mother many times for a camera, she eventually gave me one, a Minolta!
From that point on, I started taking pictures of everything, but I still regarded photography merely as a hobby.
Yet, I started to realize that my love for photography wasn't enough. I needed to learn more about it...
So, in 2002 I decided to change my hobby into something more serious. I enrolled myself in ETIC, where I successfully attended a photography course.
It was my first step into the world of professional photography!
After finishing my course in ETIC, I became even more fascinated with the art of photography and I decided that in the future, I would always work in the photography field.
I started experimenting with fashion, portrait, landscape and nude photography.
I captured on camera, ideas, sets, expressions, moments, all that my imagination allowed for, and I gradually perfected my work and experimented every technique available.
In 2006 I held my first photography exhibition called "Artistic Nude".
It was a most rewarding experience, because for the first time I displayed my work and my art to others and I could finally see the public reaction to it.
I've held a total of five exhibitions up till now, two of which were made up of nude photos and the other three of infrared photos.
In the meanwhile, I've been studying further on infrared photography, a technique which I'm deeply interested in, because the final result conveys a wonderful atmosphere of dream and fantasy!
The same thing is happening with my most recent discovery, the HDR technique, that also allows me to produce very unusual and unique photos.
Throughout my career, I've been fortunate to display my work in exhibitions and other photography events, in which I received some awards, such as:
• First place at the photography contest "Amo la Mia Terra", with two photos of Sintra. These photos were subsequently exhibited in Rome.
• Photography exhibition sponsored by the TV channel "Odisseia", at the Shopping Mall Vasco da Gama.
• Exibithion on Infrared photography, "The Other Side", at Tivoli Tejo Hotel and Malaposta Theater.
• Photographic coverage of the "50th anniversary Tall Ships Race Lisbon 2006".
I've also done some advertising photography and I've established a partnership with the following clients:
• Xalabreca Shoe Store - Interior design and decoration of the store
• Addmore Advertising Agency
• Commission work for the magazine "Noite Digital"
• DDB Advertising Agency
• Upartener Advertising Agency
• APF
• TMN
• Partner Advertising Agency
Today I'm still fully committed to my "world of different shapes and colors", that I've now decided to share with you on this website.
I hope you enjoy it and thank you very much for stopping by!
