:) I allready saw that, and I must admit that i like them too. Sometimes.
But the problem can be that those "standard" vignettes can look a little bit... hmmm, cheap (sorry, don't find a different word just now). Lately I often work with a different curves-layer which I adjust dark enough to serve as vignette, then erasing the layer effect in the middle. I think it can work quite fine, but it needs some time to do... OK, my opinion... :)
I like this contrast between the statue and the moving person, works very well. Also the way you did separate the elements.
Though I'm not so sure about the vignetting effect, this looks a little bit like "done in a hurry". Anyway, I like the picture... :)
