Manta ray in front of the camera
Ko Tachai north of the Similan Islands is famous over the season from April to July for the many manta rays that one encounters during his dives. For several years I have encountered it again and again, because I recognize it by its scars and a meter long fishing rope that has grown into one of its wings.
This photo shows roughly the size of how large a manta can be, some reach a span of over 5 meters. On his back, two freeloaders have sucked in, two Cobia fish that the Manta can not shake off.
(By the way: Cobia fish are excellent and delicious food to eat, we enjoyed once on board on our cruising boat.)
