Second view into the central Prang

My second photo at the Prasat Hin Phanom Rung shows the Khmer Prang main building from the other side.
Initially a Khmer Prang temples to worship Hindu gods such as Shiva and Vishnu.
In front at the middle of the Prang standing the Lingam, its a complete symbolic representation of the formless Universe Bearer.
The picture was captured with a Kodachome 64 ASA color reversal film and scanned with a Nikon CoolScan V ED.

    Diese Bauten der Khmer sind schon sehr beeindruckend. Ich habe da immer nur davor gestanden und gestaunt.

      Ich wurde oft gefragt, was die Rinne vor dem Eingang für eine Bedeutung hat. Es ist ein Lingam. wörtlich das Symbol der Hindu-Gottheit Shiva. Hindus sehen im Lingam nicht nur die schöpferische, sondern ebenso die erhaltende und zerstörende Kraft Shivas, dem Hauptgott der Hindus. Gruß Wolfgang
