Swamp Hike (24)

This is the last landscape shot in my “swamp hike series” and shows another scenery part of the swampy peat moors of ‘Hohes Venn’, the greatest (4500 ha) and oldest National Park of Belgium and the most unique nature biotope in the land.

Just a few minutes before a heavy thunderstorm broke loose, a profound silence ruled above the vast and desolate landscape.
All was quiet over there and as still as a mouse.

But then came the thunderstorm. It lasted half an hour and there was absolutely no possibility to take shelter.......

Location : Kutenhart ('Hohes Venn', Belgium)

it's actually quite a threatening scene, especially with the dark cone-shaped fir tree (?) corresponding so well with the dramatic sky! but what did you do to escape the storm? beg for mercy? or join the moles in their underground tunnel system?? ; ))) well, whatever idea it was you came up with, we know you survived because you managed to post this picture – that's good!! ; )))) greetings, sabine.
