Replaced by modern Interstate Highways the old "Mother Road" Route 66 is officially gone.
However, aside the Highways you can still find remnants and breathe the nostalgic flair of history.
I created a small series, when we came along Route 66 in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas this year.
I recommend a wonderful book: "Route 66 - The Mother Road" from Michael Wallis.

Eine rundum gelungene Serie.Ich bin so oft durch die USA gefahren, doch nie habe ich die Route 66 benutzt :-(
Dafür wohne ich jetzt in Sichtweite der A66 :-))
