Wat Pa Daet at front side
Wat Pa Daet was built during the time of Phraya Khuean Kaeo, the ruler of Mae Chaem, around 1857. The temple has one of the most preserved assembly hall and mural painting in Chiang Mai.
The assembly hall is a Lanna-style rectangular building enclosed by brick wallson all four sides. Its pediment is adorned with elaborately carved motifs of flowers, vines, and lions. The stairway leading up to the asselbly hall is decorated into the shape of the mythical lion Singha emerging from mouth of Makara, which can only be found in this temple.
