When it all started...
My fascination for aviation started in the late Sixties. The time when our Dutch air force flew Starfighters which were still in their dull light grey livery. I stayed hooked ever since, collecting and specialising as a painter in military subjects. Not the fact that fast jets are weapons of destruction is what fascinates me. I hate war. It's the shapes and flying characteristics that are so capturing.
This grey TF-104G Starfighter is making its way through the ever present Dutch clouds. Background: IL-2 Flightsim screenshot as an example, painted in acrylics, heavily modified in PS, extra clouds 'painted' in with PS brushes. Is the same background as used in previous acrylic with the glider. Aircraft was photo of Italian TF-104 that I once spotted over Volkel airbase. Modified it to Dutch Sixties livery. Total picture is an attemp to digitally create an old-style oil painting effect. Lots of filtering. Took me about 3 hours. Have a nice weekend...
