Prekmurje

Prekmurje (deutsch Übermurgebiet, ungarisch Muravidék) ist eine historische Region im äußersten Nordosten Sloweniens . Das Gebiet hat eine Fläche von 947,8 km² und umfasst das hügelige Goričko, die Ebenen Ravensko und Dolinsko sowie den westlichen Teil der bergigen Lendavske Gorice.

Prekmurje (Hungarian: Muravidék) is the easternmost region of Slovenia. It borders Hungary to the north-east, Austria to the north-west, Croatia to the south and the Slovenian region of Styria to the south-west. The old name of the Prekmurje is Vendvidék. The Vendvidék name some by the 19th century in use. After 1919 the Vendvidék is the range of Szentgotthárd in Hungary.
