mom (finally stops at the next corner and turns around): "oh, dear! what happened? you know, i don't have eyes in the back of my head, honey!" – –

a smart-aleck remark that was hurled at me by my mother quite frequently, too, when i was little. to tell, you the truth, it drove me mad! moms should come with a set of eyes in the back of their heads, if you ask me… ; ))
