Architecture of extreem need and limited available means.

Old time towns and villages
In many Greek towns and many more remote and mountainous villages there are still surviving houses mostly in ruins but ,yet, vivid reminders of a maybe primitive and extincted but, seemingly, extremely interesting architecture, a remarkable product of what someone urgently needs to have and of what he is permitted to have because of limited available means and difficult living conditions. Such a construction needed to be solid and higly protective against ackward weather conditions of extreme heat and cold and sufficiently endurable to time and physical disasters. Very often this was a very difficult equation to solve so it's easily explicable thal local stone and wood were the fundamental elements to use . and this is evident in the series of photographs presented in this documentary.
In the photo such an old relic in a village. It was amazing the big cellar the house had underneath to store provisions.

a sturdy house made of wood and stone resistant to heat and weather. I do not know this mountain village but it is true that it reminds me of the Ottoman architecture seen especially in the old quarter of Ankara.a remarkable contrasting image and a wonderful serie
