At the Saint Symios Festival, Greece, 2014
At the Pentecost in the city of Messolongi, Greece, is celebrated the memory of St. Symios for three days and nights. During these days there are festivities of local people in remembrance of the heroic exodus of the besieged city during the independence war against Turkey in 1821. The Saint is also the patron of rom people and they are gathered in Messolongi to baptize their children at the Saint' s chapel. The festivities have parades, dancing, music, a colourful mixture of traditional and rom folklore…June 2014
