Beauty in poverty
North Greece, West Macedonia, Prespes, Psarades. (at the borders with FYROM).
Lake Prespes is one of the most remote and poorest regions of Greece in the Northern part of West Macedonia and on the borders with FYROM. The locals are mainly farmers that struggle everyday to make some profit cultivating a hard and unfriendly earth or fishing from the two big lakes. But the area is of extreme beauty and one of the villages, Psarades in the picture, is the most picturesque of all just on the border lake...
The photo was taken early in the morning, directly in monochrome with ILFORD HP5 120 (6X4,5) scanned after to digital.

a beautiful panorama indeed .... but a closer look does tell of remote and fringe living .... an excellent capture with fine black and white details !!!greetings, Adele

So remote does make you wonder how they exist:-)) Harold

It all looks so picturesque, it is not easy to discern how much the people here have to struggle to survive the harsh living conditions of this area.:))
