Blasting Past Ardsley - A Hudson Line Moment
The handsome "Empire Service" livery adorns this Amtrak P32AC-DM Diesel-Electric Dual-Mode locomotive,
on the point of a New York-bound train as it blasts past Ardsley-on-Hudson on the southbound express track.
North of the Spuyten Duyvil swing bridge, where they merge, Amtrak's Empire Service trains share the busy Hudson Line
of the Metro North Railroad with the MNRR's own trains on that route, making for always exciting train-watching. (*)
In the telecompressed background on this golden autumn late afternoon can be seen the distinctive architecture of the Mario Cuomo Tappan Zee Bridge, connecting Tarrytown on this side of the river with Nyack on the western shore. (**)
