Pacific 03 001 of the 'Deutsche Reichsbahn' (Railways of the German Democratic Republic) makes a stormy departure from Dresden-Neustadt station with a regular passenger train to Görlitz. These were the heydays of the so-called 'Plandampf' events, when steam engines were substituted to diesel on request of the photographer's community. Nowaday with the castrated railway infrastructure and omnipresent bureaucracy, such actions are just things of the past...

    Unfortunetly more than 20 years ago, but that was an unforgettable time !
