Holding on to a straw...

Fond this grasshopper yesterday while looking for other insects. It seems like it tried to hide behind the straw as I was approaching. Interesting to watch!

Well done! Which lens did you use? I'm starting to look into the macro direction and I wonder what people use. And is it really necessary to use extra light. I would appreciate an advice from you, since you do very mice macro shots.

In my experience very few shots that are worthwhile come without sacrifice! If you had to crawl on all fours to get this one, I'm sure it was worth it. The result is great.

Sue, he he, you are pretty correct about the "mental picture" of the situation! And, as the grasshopper was trying to hide away from me, I was actually crawling about to get the shot. Dirty, very hot and unpractical, but well worth it!
