HUMMINGBIRDY

DEPENDING ON THE SPECIES, THEY BEAT THEIR WINGS FROM 70 TO 90 TIMES PER SECOND. ALSO THEY USE TO FLY CIRCA 50 KMS A DAY TO OBTAIN SUGAR (FROM FLOWERS) TO FUELL THEIR MUSCLES! THIS SHINING AND GORGEOUS CREATURE WAS PHOTOGRAPHED IN MY HOME BACKYARD, USING AN F2A NIKON, A 200MM MICRO-NIKKOR LENS FOCUSED AT ABOUT 2 METERS [TO FILL THE FRAME]. IT WAS EARLY IN THE MORNING - IN THE SHADE - AND HOW DID I FREEZE ITS WINGS? SIMPLE: USING A VIVITAR 285 SPEEDLIGHT AT 1/16 (REDUCED) POWER! THE SHUTTER SPEED WAS 1/60, DO YOU BELIEVE? AND YOU CAN COUNT THE FEATHERS.

    LET'S SEE EAMO,
YOU'LL NEED, AT LEAST, A 300mm LENS, A FAST ISO 400 PROFESSIONAL FILM (EX: KODAK'S SUPRA 400 or FUJI'S NPH 400) IN ORDER TO USE A HIGH SHUTTER SPEED [1/500 - 1/1000]. THEN, DURING A CLEAR DAY, USING A TRIPOD OR MONOPOD, JUST MAKE A "PAN" WITH THE CAMERA FOLLOWING THE BIRD IN FLIGHT. A MOTOR-DRIVE COUPLED TO THE CAMERA WOULD BE HELPFUL.MAKE "PRE-FOCUS", GET SMART AND SHOOT! GOOD LUCK, BRO!

    Kind Regards

Deborah, first I would like to know if your name was inspired on Marc Bolan's T-Rex tune "Deborah"? Second, you're very nice and kind. Be around, if you please!
