i like the grainy atmosphere of this shot.
yes the date spoils it but not the end of the world.
a bit hot at top left, does't seem to blend with the rest of the image.

Yes, you should remove the date....
The bad quality works well here and reflects a strange mood.

Very nice photo! you can try and remove the date with photoshop, using the clone stamp and healing brush...
