In These Eyes

This is Koko, a pygmy chimpanzee. Rescued from the bush-meat traders in a village near Kisangani in the DRC. She was allowed to roam free on the property until some of the locals tried to kill her. With her legs broken and her body bruised we were forced to cage her. The look of sadness in her eyes is a typical reflection of the plight of wildlife in the DRC and an inspiration for the title.

Really a great picture, those eyes! Fine cropped and you have a natural frame (the cage). The artificial frame I think is too much and i feel the colour distracting. Nevertheless, great picture and I hope to see more!
