Journey part 6
The greatest aspect of the of the Smokies in spring is the flora and fauna that can be found. At this particular time of the year the black bear are becoming quite active after a long hibernation. We did not see any on our journey, but a couple kilometers south there were several sightings. One of the most predominate spring flowers is the dwarf iris and can be found deep in the forest as well as along the hiking trails.
In die Smokies ist der Natur in Frühling grossartig. In diese Zeitraum sind die Schwarzbären wieder aktiv. Wir haben wohl keine entdeckt aber ein paar kilometer südlich sind einige schon gesehen worden. Typisch für die Jahreszeit und überall zu finden ist die Zwerg Iris.
