Foggy at 06:30, I took a walk into town, appox. 3 km. Ventspils is immaculately clean, people are gardening and sweeping the streets. Many of the houses are of wood but need a coat of paint. I find a spot with WLAN and the open market. Never go shopping on an empty stomach, bought some chicken and peppers for tonight.
The hafenmeister informs us that the main was disconnected, it's O.K. now!.........at least he speaks good English.
The fog burnt off, we left at 09:50 with the engine. At 11:10 we could sail a butterfly, later a very broad reach. The wind has been good since Swinenoujš?ie, 500 miles, today we’re slow. Oviši, S?krags, no wind in the Irbenskiy Strait, we’re alone here. On autopilot we can dine on the chicken I bought this morning, drink wine, espresso and photograph the sunset on Kolkasrags. It's late, the pier is uninviting and not recommended. The anchor is dropped, peaceful.
