I am a fan of stairwells, windows and doorways- portals or places leading to something else. Thus, I was naturally drawn to this image. It's decrepit condition makes it more interesting, as does the overwhelming light at the top right staircase, versus the darker stairwell descending on the left. A nice contrast is created, though it is not so simply light/good upward, dark/evil downward, as we see a glimpse of day from the hopeful window peeking through the two from below- of course it is shedding light on more decay, but that is what makes this shot so well balanced yet complex in its paradoxical elements. I overanalyze all- regardless, well done.
