Living in Refuge Cove

just 150 km north of Vancouver and only accessible by boat or seaplane this seems like very lonely living - but when the boaters get their last supplies, the store is busy ... taken from our boat as we motor past.

Ok. Now I know where you took this photos.
Did you ever read the book Tomboy Bride by Harriet Fish Backus?
She was the wife of a mining engineer around the turn of the twentieth century. I followed a bit her tracks in Telluride and Leadville. They also came to British Columbia and lived close to a mine at Howe sound. Exciting story!
I'll try to find some photos at my external hard-drive.
