Memories

I just thought about memories lately and about the way they can hit you out of nowhere. They make you laugh, they make you cry and somehow you wonder where it all went wrong. You wonder about the friends you had and about the ways you lost them. Your fingers slip through old papers, old pictures, old letters and postcards from people you used to be close with. You find memories you never knew you had- deep in the back of your mind- just by reading old sentences. The words from a younger version of you break your heart a little and you wonder where it all went wrong. Or maybe, just maybe it’s meant to be this way.
