Night Gantry, L-I-C No.1

One of the massive machines along the East River at Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City, Queens.

The Plaza offers a unique view of the Midtown Manhattan skyline framed by these complex industrial forms.

Of course, I shot the skyline across the river with the gantries in the foreground, while there for the first time one night last month, but I was also attracted to the complex girder work and other details as illuminated against the night sky.
