Tyne Cot Cemetery at Passendale (Belgium) on the battlefields where in 1917 one of the bloodiest battles of WWI took place.
With 11.956 (!) white gravestones, it is the largest British war cemetery in the world.
70% of all buried soldiers are unknown and the inscription on their graves reads : "known only to God"
Many soldiers who died were only 18 years old, always someone’s child…….
(my shot shows only a VERY SMALL part of this immense sad place)

Diese vielen jungen Menschen wurden sinnlos geopfert!Sehr eindrucksvoll zeigst Du die vielen Gräber der Soldaten.

Ja, es ist tragisch, wie viele Soldaten im Krieg ihr Leben verloren und sie waren oft erst 18 Jahre alt!!! In Bergen Belsen ist ein Friedhof angelegt für Gefallene im 2. Weltkrieg. Auch dort steht auf vielen Grabkreuzen, dass es viele junge Männer waren!!!Die Kriegsgeschehen sollten wir wirklich nicht vergessen!!!
