Out of the Siq...
Jordan
Ancient Petra, the capital of the Nabatean civilization(500 BC till about 2nd century AC).
After crossing the Siq canyon one faces the full length of the impressive Bab El Siq valley together with a good chance to admire in panoramic view a big part of the legendary capital.

the age-old rocks prevail! or so it seems… man has legs and thus is mobile – that's one of his great advantages over the ancient stone, and he can carve… entire cities from a desert of rock… and still, man's a mere afterthought in their everlasting dwarfingly imposing presence! but he brings progress and dynamic change: the lonely figure passing the rocks…an image laden with TIME and moaning under its load… eternity rocks!! ; )) greetings, sabine. p.s.: browsed through all your jordan images – very impressive!
