Last year, same time, the Egyptian Goose had already goslings born (see picture below)

This year so far, it remained bloody cold with lots of snow and always a strong biting northeastern wind.
I spotted this Egyptian Goose, no goslings yet but still pregnant, probably as a result of the long sustaining very cold winter weather.

This large and distinctive waterbird is native to Africa, especially the Nile Valley in Egypt and south of the Sahara desert.
In Western Europe, the Egyptian Goose was introduced in the 18th century with well established feral populations as result.

Dutch name : Nijlgans
German name : Nilgans
Latin name : Alopochen aegyptiacus

Dieses Jahr muß sie ihre Eier noch ein wenig "inside" behalten, sonst gibt es gefrorene Eier.

Da wollen wir hoffen, dass jetzt der lange Winter seinem Ende entgegen geht und die Küken bald das Licht der welt erblicken!

Oh, was für ein Prachtexemplar! Sie wirkt wirklich stattlich! Du hast sie auch heuer wieder ganz wunderbar erwischt... vielleicht ist sie mit dem Brüten fertig, so bald der Frühling Einzug halten wird. Es hat gestern den ganzen Tag geschneit und auch heute soll es das weiterhin...;-((
