Rano Kao 1

This is Rano Kao in Rapanui (Eastern Island), an old volcano which is now a small lake. Rapanui is one of the most exciting places in the world for tons of reasons, and especially this place.
Canon EOS 100 and USM 28-105 lens with Kodachrome 25 and scanned with an Epson perfection 1240U.

Je me souviens très bien du "Boat in the desert".
Cette image, comme beaucoup d'autres, attirent immanquablement l'oeil. Un petit regret : de nouvelles compositions !

Don't worry, I won't leave you ! Rapanui is very exciting but only for a while ;-) It's like an Oasis in a desert of water. The nearest populated place should be at more than 4000km!
I did not found any other pictures from Rano Kao in FC. I'll upload one soon. In the meantime, I found that one in the web which is very nice too:

I was on the top at the right side of this picture.

    dont leave us like this!!

Why is Rapanui one of the most exciting places in the world!!

And from what point of orientation did you take this shot. It is amazing but hard to tell if it is from far away or close up.

The colors and structures are amazing.
