A tiny spot in South Aegean sea, hardly seen on the map but loaded with history.The Simians, rich sea merchants in the past, trading with almost all Mediterranean ports, participated actively in the Greek liberation war(1821-1828) against the Ottomans offering ships and money. Their beautiful neoclassic houses continue to attract admiration nowadays and the picture is only a small part of them.A strong headache,though, for their descendants to maintain them...

    the houses literally glow from within, as though capable of producing color and light independently, without help from the sun, that is! proudly they shine and give the image an mythical air of expectation! love, how they are framed by those two "patches" of blue, the sky above and the ocean below! greetings, sabine. p.s.: the red one's the secret star of the image! ; )
