The living forest (826) : Great spotted woodpecker (immature)
Until June, young woodpeckers are still often fed by their parents.
From July onwards, this is over.
My photo shows an immature (°) woodpecker who is not yet quite used to looking for food on its own.
Dutch name : Grote bonte specht
German name : Buntspecht
Latin name : Dendrocopos major
(°) immature is the stage between juvenile and adult
