The "Meeting"
An installation of sculptures by the Chinese artist Wang Shugang and part of the 2009/2011 Biennale in Vancouver .
First exhibited during the G-8 summit meeting in Germany in 2007 where world leaders held a "meeting", the placing of the figures in static sitting positions with cupped hands is not without irony nor historical and cultural significance (so says the write-up).
I took this in the Fall of 2009 - in the background you can see a glimpse of North vancouver.

Coincidently, we have post the photo using same title, but despite this and despite we have shot the same sculptured figures, the the photos transmit different situations, in my point of view. In your Meeting the sky seems dramatic, a storm coming soon contrasting with the calm and red figures.Very nice your composition. Thank you for visiting my photopage.

A very different and amazing set of sculptures, the artist has an interesting eye and talent! I am guessing he chose red because he is Chinese and that is the favoured colour. RegardsSally

It seems to me, they wait for somebody or something in a modest or imploring position. Are they heard one day?
The red colour of the sculptures makes me hopeful.
The grey sky fits very well to the scene.
A great shot, Adele
