      Yes.
      It is a difficult road.
I have only crossed it in a car a couple of times - long ago.
This pub was open in september (after the first covid wave)  - when i had a meal there (pie).
The pub had recently been taken on by a youngish couple with young children.
It seems to me that it is a "labour of love" (English saying).

This particular pub - which is in the middle of the little langdale Valley is one of my absolutely favourite pubs.
It has a marvellous location - but a location that is difficult to capture in a photograph.
The blue/green slate used in the buildings is peculiar to the lake district area.
The pub is called the three shires inn because it is near a point where three ancient "shires", (counties) , meet -
      Lancashire, Cumberland and Westmoreland.
