The Swat Daw Pagoda is a newly built sanctuary in Burma. A tooth of Buddha is said to be kept in the Swat Daw, as in Kandy In Sri Lanka one tooth from Lord Buddha is kept too.
There are many places with relics of Buddha, this pagoda is one of them and a very interesting destination for all travelers who visit Rangoon.
A Burmese abbot is said to have discovered the sacred tooth only 27 years ago under the rubble of a stupa that he intended to restore. It happened in Bagan, the former royal city in the heart of Burma, where there are more than two thousand temples and monasteries in the deserted landscape.
