Ushuaia
Ushuaia is a tiny town right at the southest tip of Argentina's territory called Tierra del Fuego separated from Patagonia with the strait of Magellan.Tierra del Fuego is divided between Argentina having the East and Chile keeping the west part of it. Ushuaia is considered the southest inhabitet place in the world bounded from north by the volcanic Martial mountains and south from the Beagle channel that starts from the port , trends east west and is considered as the gateway to the Antarctic. The town started as a small settlement of Brittish missionaries and initially served as a prison for convicts and political exiles. The prison operated till 1947 closed by Peron after many reports of abuse and unsafe practices. Presently, Ushuaia serves as a naval base and lives mainly by tourism.
