Sobre mi
Why am I so fascinated by photography ?
I like sharing my work with people and to see the inspiration they pull from. It also gives me the opportunity to share my experiences and travels but also enjoy the outdoor.
How it started…
Everything started with submitting my application to an outdoor event management company in Canada and when I got the approval of my one-year work permit for Canada in February 2011. With that event I sold my motorbike and bought a camera with that money to capture my one-year trip. I bought a Canon 60D and Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 and had no idea what I had invested in. And soon I realized I needed more lenses and bought a Canon 50mm f1.8 and Canon 24-70 f/2.8 L USM.
Afterwards…
As excepted, even if my pictures of that trip were nothing else than snapshots, I kept going and tried constantly to get better in my work and images. After a while people noticed my affinity for photography and kept me motivated in pursue and perfect.
First Milestone...
The first real milestone happened when I saw an ad on Facebook by a local skateboard shop from Frankfurt, Germany. They put on a photo contest with the theme "summer". A friend of mine and I, we both won the photo contest. An unforgettable feeling when I look back.
In 2011 when I came to Canada, my employer invited me out to the Canadian Rockies and I had the opportunity to shoot pictures for an upcoming event called Canadian Rockies Heli Run. All images were used as marketing products and online ads. Another event what I was taking pictures for, was printed in Impact Magazine.
In February 2013 I saved up enough money to afford my first full frame Camera Canon 5D Mark III and soon after a portrait of my roommate was published online at National Geographic Germany. It got 5th out of 10th.
Direction…
In the future I´ll be trying to appear in a more professional aspect; building my portfolio; get more exposure and more publications. I also want to get more involved with climbing photography and pushing my work in untouched directions; eventually making photography my way of life.
