A Chur Altstadt Moment - No. 1
Autumn afternoon, along the Reichgasse in Graubünden's cantonal capital, Chur.
Shot in 1994 on Ektachrome EPX-64 slide film (*), the timeless nature of this scene in the Altstadt,
as well as the lighting, suggested creating a black and white adaptation, seen here for the first time.

Did I say timeless? Sometimes, it's pleasantly reassuring to return to a favorite spot years later
and find it to be as inviting as one remembered. After too many years, I returned to Chur in 2010,
and that was most definitely the case, including my return to the Romantik Hotel Stern (the 300+ year
old building at left, in front of whose distinctive facade I took both photos - more showing in the color image),
even being greeted by a server I well remembered from my first visit, in the hotel's inviting Weinstube.
(*) The very roll ;-)

It i s reassuring seeing that nothing changed in 16 years!I like both photos, but this is my favourite because, even though in b/w, it transports the feeling of sunshine in the narrow street better.
