Hugs
Man sollte dort aufpassen...
: )) they look so preciously alive in their bright turquoise clothes set off against the ancient stones, their warm fleeting smiles worthy of immortalization. do i hear the pharaoh moan in his tomb? he has his own turquoises at his side: precious gems. burial goods… not radiant and warm, but keeping him company in the darkness of the sarcophagus. life to the living, fame and riches to the kingly dead. it's only fair… ; ) hugs, sabine. p.s.: i agree with mirjam on the fascinating proportions: at first sight the stones look small, but then you notice the people trying to climb the bottom ones… wow!

"since at least the first dynasty (3000 bce), and possibly before then, turquoise was used by the egyptians and was mined by them in the sinai peninsula, called "country of turquoise" by the native monitu." thank you wikipedia! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turquoise
When I saw the thumb, I was - just for a second - hoping to see Adele wearing a scarf, but my subsequent "disappointment" is very well balanced by the great scene and composition, giving lots of room to the wonderful stone wall of the pyramid.

Climbing up is prohibited.Otherwise, it would be the Egyptian alternative
to the Rocky Mountains.
Gruss - A.
