On the day the remains of Dorian were stirring up the skies and whipping up the sea
at Far Rockaway, an A train of R46 railcars approaches its Mott Avenue terminus.

A fine shot...I love how the train comes from this little curve and the colors are also fine by this overcast sky.

  Thanks, Tom. While the Miller band may have had a go at it, the real connection is to Duke Ellington, for whose band "Take the A Train" was a trademark tune. It was penned by his protege Billy Strayhorn, who wrote several tunes for the Ellington Band.
