Almost Home

Living in northern B.C. the C28-35 gates at YVR are so iconic since it is essentially the waiting room for home, where neighbours meet away from home after a long trip. Usually you arrive with some tiring flight from far away just before dusk and then sit for hours in this area for your last leg of your trip home. In my case it is another 1hr40minutes north. The shape of the plane (they are pretty much all Dash-8) the looming darkness, the Tim Hortons coffee and Doughnuts ... it all says ... "not long anymore ... you are almost home" to me. I get tired and comforted just looking at it.

i love modern spaces at night, their cold lights, their emptiness full of comfortable objects, their desperate silence...make you look inside yourself and serch for what really matters! Great photo! Ciao Ornella

Having the airport blues, waiting to get home .... yes, your image with this toning
and the reflections and light say it all and express your feelings well (as do your
words) .... my last flight from YVX (and a 6 hour wait) ended here at YVR - a
    happy mood for me :-)))
compliments for this image, I like it a lot !!!
    best regards,
    Adele

I am so glad, you like it Adele. Some images are not necessarily great from a photographic perspective but depict something very personal and it is nice to see that they ring a bell with others, too (where is YVX?)
