Always Protecting
A Kill Deer Mother Bird watching carefully over her egg.
Kills Deer lay their eggs in rocks or gravel to hide them.
A mother bird will drop a wing and act injured to lead you away from her egg or babies. Once she has you following her away she will return her nest to protect it. The kill deer babies are exceptional in that they learn to forage for theirfood from birth following their mother from the nest to find it.
