American Boys

When you snap a candid photo of children playing their typical games it becomes quite chilling when viewed as a frozen moment doesn't it? what are these toys really teaching our children, are they really so harmless?

Thanks Calvin, I agree, they probably would, but the act of making the toys and buying them gives the message that violent acts against one another is acceptable

I agree that we shouldn't glorify violence esp. in movies and on TV but there's something innate about boys playing games like this. If they didn't have a toy gun they'd be using a stick or their finger to act out the same thing.
    Nice capture.

Jeff, that is not true, this same little boy I just shot enjoying the rain, this is the only shot of the boys playing as such..and when would I get a shot like this of girls? I have never seen a girl play war games...have you? This is simply a candid image taken during play, not a 'set up' to portray them in an unfair light.

Ah, so you are a little political as well. Very good. However, I must point out that all your girls are in typical girl poses and the only image I see of boys implies violence. This seems sexist to me, but I still love the idea and your art. Jeff.
