Atlantikwall II

Der Atlantikwall war eine 2.685 km lange Linie von befestigten Stellungen entlang der Küsten des Atlantiks, Ärmelkanals und der Nordsee. Sie wurden im Zweiten Weltkrieg von den deutschen Besatzern in den Ländern Frankreich, Belgien, Niederlande, Deutschland, Dänemark und Norwegen sowie auf den britischen Kanalinseln im Zeitraum 1942 bis 1944 geplant und teilweise erbaut. Der Atlantikwall sollte diese Gebiete vor einer britischen Invasion schützen.

In 2014, the 70th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy will be commemorated by many Allied Heads of State and hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world from June through till the end of August.The majority of Allied troops who landed on the D-Day beaches were from the United Kingdom, Canada and the USA. Allied Troops from many other countries participated in D-Day June 6,1944 and the Battle of Normandy, in all the different armed services: Australia, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, France, Greece, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway and Poland.Over 425,000 Allied and German troops were killed, wounded or went missing during the Battle of Normandy.

La bataille de Normandie commence par le débarquement de 150 000 soldats alliés le 6 juin 1944 en Normandie.Elle se termine le 21 août 1944, 2 millions de soldats alliés ayant réussi à débarquer en Normandie. Ils font fasse à environ 400 000 soldats allemands.
