It's become naturalised in NZ too, as has gorse.

The view over the broom to the mountains is wonderful.
    I really like broom.
Here in the Eifel it is also called "The Gold of the Eifel".
    hugs

what an abundance of yellow! looks just great against the different blues of the smoothly sloping mountains in the back. in fact, it's like a color/spring equation: yellow + blue = green ; )) beautifully captured, adele! is this all wild broom, i wonder? i just read up on the plant on wikipedia. the article states that in "some areas of north america, common broom, introduced as an ornamental plant, has become naturalised and an invasive weed due to its aggressive seed dispersal; it has proved very difficult to eradicate." (see wikipedia link below) another fact i found quite interesting: the strange name, "broom", doesn't derive from our word for "sweeping tool"! it's the other way around: people used to make besoms from broom, and so the word "broom" for sweeping tool was probably derived from the name of the plant! hugs, sabine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broom_(shrub)

Welch eine enorme Größe dieser Büsche....
    Naturbelassen seit Jahren?
    Im Frühling wie man sieht
    eine Blütenpracht.
    Gruß Michael

Ganz wunderbar, deine Aufnahme! Im VG der herrlich blühende Ginster - dann in der Bildmitte der grüne Wald und der HG zeigt herrliche Blautöne! Einfach wunderschön....

    LG!
