Boston Bay, lower Eyre Peninsula, South Australia
December 2003. After takeoff from Port Lincoln Airport, looking south. Boston Bay is said to be 3.5 times the size of Sydney Harbor (Sydney Harbour is 54 sq km), and an important location for aquaculture. Port Lincoln is the base of Australia's largest tuna fishing fleet, also one of Australia's largest export grain terminals.
This section of Australia's coastline was first explored and mapped in 1802 by the British navigator Matthew Flinders, who named features in this location after his native Lincolnshire.
Metroliner aircraft. Canon Powershot A70.
