      Hello. There are seven bridges across the river between the centre of newcastle and gateshead.
      In this picture - from the top - they are
      The Tyne bridge (Arched, road bridge) 1928
      the High level Bridge  (combined rail and road) 1949
      the Queen Elizabeth 2nd Bridge (metro) 1981
      the Redheugh bridge (concrete, road - replacing an earlier bridge) 1983
      The King Edward V11 Brifge (rail) 1906
      The figure is on the gateshead millennoum Bridge (pedestrians) 2001.
      The only one of the seven that you cannot see in this picture - although you can in the other bridge picture I posted today - is the Swing bridge - 1876.

      WOW! Great shot of great bridges. I know one is working by steam to open the driveway on the river. Got to come once more ;-)). Grüssle AnBes
